The digitization of La 𝘋𝘪𝘴𝘤𝘶𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘦, a magazine founded by De Gasperi in 1953, has been completed

The Institute has completed, also thanks to the project of the Arci – Civil Service Digital library: giving a future to the memory and to the volunteers who have carried out their work at the Palazzo Baldassini headquarters in recent years, the digitization of the magazine La Discussione.

Weekly of the Christian Democracy founded by Alcide De Gasperi in December 1953, the magazine dealt not so much with national and international political events – the main responsibility of the newspaper Il Popolo – as with the analysis of the party’s activity: «… mutual information and discussion between young and old, men who feel the anxiety of New Things (Rerum Novarum) and men who have already experienced the impact of the historical and environmental reality that conditions our collective life “(A. De Gasperi, la Discussion, n.1, year I, 1953, p. 2).

Digitization involved publications ranging from its birth in 1953 to 1993, the year the party was dissolved.

By 2021 the weekly will be available on the Institute’s website in the periodicals section together with the rich collection of magazines already available for online reading.
