The large and demanding project carried out by the Historical Archive for the year 2020 with the contribution of the General Directorate of Archives and the supervision of the Archival Superintendence of Lazio, pursuant to Law 17 December 2018, pursuant to art. 35 of Legislative Decree 42/2004 for the processing of 15 party and political archival collections.
Despite the prolonged limitations imposed by the ongoing health emergency and with the involvement of 13 archivists selected for the occasion, the Historical Archives conducted and completed, within the 10 months envisaged, the processing of all 15 archival collections. of the project and now definitively available for research, for a total of 1,848 folders and 9 drawers, equal to 12,001 new files filed and inventoried, 20,381 new records inserted in the xDams software, 4,379 new digitized images.
The archives subject to the intervention are: Flaminio Piccoli (519 folders), Giovanni Marcora (298 folders), Movimento Democratici-L’Ulivo (286 folders), Maria Eletta Martini (254 folders), Mario Scelba (175 folders), Gabriele De Rosa (129 folders), Giacomo Sedati (81 folders), M. Luisa Paronetto Valier (43 folders), Attilio Piccioni (25 folders), Clelia D’Inzillo (16 folders), Clelio Darida (11 folders), Left Party Cristiana (9 folders), Mario Vittorio Rossi (2 folders), Spes Flyers and Brochures (440 files), Spes Photographs (196 files).
In the context of the diversified interventions of filing, sorting, conditioning, transfer, paper and computerized inventory, indexing and digitization carried out on each fund, it is specified that the description of the documents has always provided for the analytical filing, both paper and computerized, of all the individual archival units, according to specific parameters of in-depth analysis and indexing aimed at the complete retrieval, and therefore at the complete safeguarding and enhancement of the documentation. The results achieved include an increased functionality, the implementation of research tools, the implementation of the database, the implementation of integrated databases, the increased usability of the paper and iconographic heritage, new impulse and development of research.
